The Public Welfare Foundation supports organizationsthat address human needs in disadvantaged communities,with strong emphasis on organizations that includeservice, advocacy and empowerment in their approach:service that remedies specific problems; advocacy thataddresses those problems in a systemic way throughchanges in public policy; and strategies to empowerpeople in need to play leading roles in achievingthose policy changes and in remedying specificproblems. The Foundation provides both general supportand project-specific grants.
