Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need. Department of Education announces funds to provide fellowships in areas of national need to assist graduate students with excellent academic records who demonstrate financial need and plan to pursue the highest degree available in their courses of study. Eligible applicants include public and state controlled institutions of higher education and private institutions of higher education. The deadline for applications is November 20, 2006. Approximately $9,725,000 is available to fund 45 awards. A match is required.
